The Secretary of Tourism of the State, Mariela Morán Ocampo, stressed the importance of having gastronomic events that put Querétaro in the national and world arena and open the possibility of enjoying cuisine of international stature in our territory.
"In short, Querétaro receives the best of the world of gastronomy, to combine it with the best of our wines, art and our tourist offer. Michelin Chefs Meet Querétaro is becoming an event that attracts attention in the center of the country, and places gastronomy as a pillar of tourist attraction for our state," said Mariela Morán.
In his speech, Rodrigo Velázquez, director of the Labrantío Restaurant of Hacienda Lagunillas, reported that Michelin Chefs Meet Querétaro, contemplates the realization of three events, where Chefs recognized with Michelin Stars will prepare special menus paired with Mexican wines and spirits, in addition to visiting emblematic places of the state of Querétaro combining gastronomic experiences with art, culture and lifestyle.
The participation of 250 people is expected in each of the three editions, which are contemplated: for May 13 at the Regional Museum of Querétaro; the second during the month of August in the gastronomic corridor Barrio Santiago and finally during the month of October in Hacienda Lagunillas.
The first event will be attended by Michelin Chefs, Aurelio Morales and Vicente Torres, who will prepare a special dinner menu paired with wines from the Querétaro winery Puerta del Lobo, in addition to having an art auction for the benefit of the Regional Museum of Querétaro and by the Impulso Art Gallery; where works by Ramsés de la Cruz, Fernando Garrido, among other artists from Querétaro will be made available; as well as the presence of the Querétaro Fashion Show.
Chef Vicente Torres is originally from Ibiza, Spain, and has more than 25 years of experience in the kitchen. He was awarded a Michelin star at the restaurant La Sucursal, at the IVAM (Valencian Institute of Modern Art); Aurelio Morales is the head chef of the restaurant Cebo, in Madrid, Spain, awarded with the Michelin Star, and two Repsol suns, since 2018, trained mainly in Catalonia by Paco Pérez (6 Michelin Stars) being his right-hand man as head chef and creativity at Miramar.
Present at this event were: Paulina Aguado Romero, federal deputy for Querétaro and member of the Tourism Commission; Bernardo Aguilar, director of Europe of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Werner Ruess, Director of Michelin Relations; Raúl Chávez, director of the Arte Impulso Gallery; Paulina Macías, director of the Regional Museum of Querétaro; and Karla Sabre, director of Querétaro Fashion Show.
