With the purpose of promoting accessibility and strengthening inclusion in the state's tourism offer, the head of the Ministry of Tourism (SECTUR), Adriana Vega Vázquez Mellado, presented the program "Culture and Tourism without Barriers: Inclusive Looks", which includes the edition of the first inclusive tourist booklet and a guided sensory tour of the Querétaro Museum of Art.
The Secretary of Tourism stressed that this type of action reaffirms Querétaro's commitment to accessible and socially responsible tourism; and highlighted tourism as an economic activity whose most important objective is to generate community.
"Every step we take toward accessibility is an investment in the future. A future in which everyone can see, feel and enjoy Querétaro from their own abilities, without limitations or barriers," he said.
When taking the floor, the Technical Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Luis Ricardo Arreola Moctezuma, agreed on the importance of generating spaces that integrate culture, education and tourism as tools for the construction of a more equitable society.
During the ceremony, a sensory tour was carried out in which children with disabilities participated, accompanied by their tutors, as well as a Braille writing workshop. The objective was to offer an experience that stimulates the senses and allows you to know art from different perspectives.
Likewise, the inclusive tourist booklet was presented, which is designed so that children with disabilities can obtain information about the main tourist attractions of the entity, through touch, play and imagination.
With these actions, Querétaro advances in the construction of an inclusive tourism model, where culture and heritage are open to all people, reaffirming that inclusion is also a destination.
