The head of the Ministry of Tourism of the state of Querétaro (SECTUR), Adriana Vega Vázquez Mellado, together with authorities from the Faculty of Philosophy of the Autonomous University of Querétaro (UAQ), led the official certification ceremony of Tourist Guides Specialized in Cultural Heritage, under the NOM TUR 08 2022 standard, whose objective is to recognize the preparation and commitment of those who strengthen the attention and experience of visitors in the entity.

During the event, the Secretary of Tourism, Adriana Vega Vázquez Mellado, stressed that the guides represent a key figure within the sector, serving as ambassadors of the Querétaro destination and as spokespersons for the historical, cultural and human value of the state.

"Those who receive this certification today are narrators of our history, guardians of our heritage and bearers of the spirit of Querétaro. Through their work, they show the visitor the greatness and diversity of Querétaro," he said.

The official explained that this certification contributes to guaranteeing the quality, safety and authenticity of tourist routes, while promoting the professionalization of the sector and the competitiveness of the destination.

He also endorsed the commitment of the State Government, through the Ministry of Tourism, to maintain close collaboration with associations, educational institutions and organizations in the sector to continue with the constant training of guides, service providers and tourism promoters.

"We recognize the work of each certified guide, because they are the ones who connect our history with the present and make Querétaro remembered for their experiences, their knowledge and their hospitality," he added.

With this certification, Querétaro reinforces its national leadership in the promotion of professional training in cultural tourism, consolidating its position as a destination that is committed to quality, sustainability and the integral development of its sector.
