From the facilities of the Querétaro Congress Center, the Secretary of Tourism, Adriana Vega Vázquez Mellado, inaugurated the LAT 2025 Sustainable Weddings and Events Congress, reaffirming the leadership of the entity as a highly competitive destination in the romance tourism segment.

The Secretary of Tourism highlighted this segment as an economic engine that brings important benefits to Querétaro society, since it represents the confidence of thousands of couples who choose Querétaro to live one of the most significant moments of their lives.

"Querétaro has established itself as a highly competitive destination in this segment and, without a doubt, we are a benchmark in Mexico. As an example, a fact that speaks for itself: every year more than 3 thousand weddings are celebrated in our state, which generate an economic spill of more than 5 billion pesos," he said.

In the same way, he stressed that among the competitive advantages of the state are its Magical Towns, haciendas, vineyards, historic centers and natural scenery, which offer a diversity of unique locations, as well as a first-class hotel infrastructure, specialized services and the hospitality of its people.

"I want to thank in a very special way the Constitutional Governor of the State of Querétaro, Mauricio Kuri González, for his permanent support to tourism and, in particular, to the romance segment, which today is confirmed as an engine of economic, cultural and social development for our entity," he added.

Likewise, Vega Vázquez Mellado recognized the support of the International Association of Destination Wedding Professionals (IADWP) and its president, Kitzia Morales, for trusting Querétaro as the venue for this congress that places the state in the international showcase of the sustainable wedding and events industry.

The LAT 2025 Sustainable Weddings and Events Congress represents a space for meeting, learning and inspiration, where strategic alliances will be consolidated and the best practices of a sector that continues to grow worldwide will be shared.

With this event, Querétaro reaffirms its position as a destination of romance par excellence in Mexico, combining tradition, modernity, infrastructure and a firm commitment to sustainability.
