During the first weekend of the Holy Week and Easter vacation period, there was an important influx of tourists to the state, which was reflected in increases in hotel occupancy and visits by people to the main destinations of the state.

Preliminary reports from the state's hotel associations estimate that hotel occupancy reached 60 percent on average this first week of the holiday period, while Good Friday and Holy Saturday saw an occupancy of between 80 and 85 percent.

In some municipalities such as Cadereyta, 100 percent hotel occupancy was reported on that weekend and the visit of approximately four thousand people was estimated in the municipal capital, two thousand in the area of the Zimapán dam and three thousand in the forested region of the municipality.

In the Magical Town of Tequisquiapan, local authorities reported an average hotel occupancy close to 80 percent and about 50 thousand people as visitors to the center of the municipal capital and its main tourist attractions. Meanwhile, the Magical Town of Bernal registered a hotel occupancy of more than 70 percent during the week, while Friday and Saturday nights reported 100 percent occupancy.

The Center for Attention and Protection of Tourists (CAPTA) provided more than a thousand tourist information services and complaints, through the itinerant modules installed in the municipalities of Amealco, Bernal, Cadereyta and Tequisquiapan, as well as in the headquarters of the Historic Center of the Capital.
