With the aim of offering services that live up to expectations, the state's Ministry of Tourism began a virtual training day for service providers, focused on "Wildlife management from tourism safety".
When inaugurating this training, the Secretary of Tourism in the entity, Mariela Moran Ocampo, said that one of the great competitive advantages that Querétaro has as a tourist destination is security. For this reason, he stressed, it is of great importance to have services that live up to the expectations of visitors, and that guarantee a meaningful experience during their stay.
"Making our visitors feel safe is of vital importance, so that we can achieve repeat customers. That you enjoy your stay to the fullest. That is why we have summoned them today. We need to be prepared to deal with contingencies of all kinds. Through these courses, we will be able to have knowledge, tools, techniques and necessary information, to be able to attend to them with every opportunity," Moran Ocampo stressed.
Tourism activity in ecosystems has sometimes generated risky situations when visitors encounter the biodiversity of natural sites. Therefore, it is necessary for security and prevention corporations to train tourism service providers, so that they have the appropriate knowledge and techniques to deal with this type of situation.
In this course, in which the Directorate of Animal Protection, Care and Control of the municipality of Querétaro participates, in coordination with the Federal Attorney for Environmental Protection (PROFEPA) and the Center for Attention and Protection of Tourists (CAPTA), tourism service providers throughout the state will receive the necessary tools and protocols for animal rescue and wildlife management. Topics such as the recognition of animal rights in accordance with animal welfare standards, as well as the applicable regulations for the humane handling and treatment of animals, will also be discussed.
Present at the beginning of the training sessions were: Gabriel Zanatta Poegner, head of the Querétaro Delegation of the Federal Attorney General's Office for Environmental Protection (PROFEPA); Ricardo Torres Hernández, Undersecretary of the Environment of the Secretariat of Sustainable Development of the state; Luis Enrique Guerrero Rojas, director of Animal Protection, Care and Control of the municipality of Querétaro; David Castro Nieto, director of Tourism of the municipality of Querétaro, and Juliette María Rojo Hernández, coordinator of CAPTA.
