The Ministry of Tourism of the State of Querétaro through the Head of the State Film Commission, Mauricio Falcón, in the company of the team of the Argentine production company Cactus Cine and guests of the guild, have officially announced the beginning of the pre-production process of the third film starring sommelier and actor Charlie Arturaola, entitled "The Master of Wine".
For the first time, this story will be filmed in Mexico, specifically in vineyards in the states of Querétaro and Guanajuato, highlighting the richness of the landscape and wine culture of these regions.
"Nowadays, Querétaro wine is already being recognized in other parts of the world. The fact that cinema provides us with a global showcase is a watershed to invite more people to discover this region. Projects like this create a sybaritic world that enriches the wine tourism experience." Mauricio Falcón added celebrating the arrival of the project in the state.
For his part, the executive producer, Christian Mouroux, shared his enthusiasm and vision around this film production that will begin shooting between the months of September and October of this year, also commenting that the team is in the scouting stage, selecting the most emblematic locations that will be part of this film.
"We feel that there is a living history that is being built in this region and there is something very exciting about being able to be part of that history positioning and placing Querétaro as an emerging region and a power of wine production and wine tourism." Christian highlighted why Querétaro was listed as an ideal location for filming.
When taking the floor, the director of the feature film, Nicolás Carreras, highlighted the commitment of the production company Cactus Cine to collaborate with talents that vibrate with audiovisual creation, from actors to content creators, to continue building unique projects with international impact. Thanking again the opportunity to work in Querétaro territory and emphasizing his intention to cross territorial barriers with projects like this.
The project's protagonist, Charlie Arturaola, expressed his passion for exploring new horizons in wine cinematography:
"There is an opportunity to tell other regions of the world that here in Querétaro there is land, there is territory, there is terroir [...] Thank you all for letting us come and show what Cactus Cine and our team come here to do in Mexico and show your homeland in the best possible way through the big screen"
Likewise, Eusebio Goyeneche, president of the Puerta del Lobo Council, shared the pride that this emblematic vineyard is part of the film, highlighting that the participation of Puerta del Lobo in this film is no coincidence because the vineyard has been chosen as one of the key locations to tell this story, thanks to its natural environment. its wine tourism proposal and its commitment to the development of Mexican wine.
Finally, Halina Gama, director of the Querétaro Wine Cluster, highlighted the technical and climatic relevance of the region as the setting for this production by pointing out that Querétaro was chosen because it is a land of extreme viticulture, which was a characteristic that the production team sought to reflect the authenticity of the territories where wine is lived with passion.
With projects such as "The Master of Wine", it seeks to project the identity, beauty and wine richness of Mexico internationally.
