During the First Forum "International Tourism Think Tank: New International Trends to Take Tourism to the Next Level"; Representatives of international tourism and economic organizations confirmed that the great challenges of tourism worldwide is to work on the digitization of services, the collection and analysis of data and the development of sustainable destinations.

At the opening of the event and before an audience of more than 300 people, as well as virtual participants from 10 member countries of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), Mariela Moran Ocampo, Secretary of Tourism, said that this forum has as its main objective, to talk about the different strategies for destinations and service providers, as well as the adaptation to the new normal as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. under the guidelines of the 2030 Agenda of the United Nations.

Similarly, he said, learn from success stories and reflect on issues such as the optimization of natural resources and respect for the environment.

"On the instructions of Governor Mauricio Kuri González, we want to be close to the sector and one of the needs we detected is the issue of professionalization. Events like this promote the professionalization of the tourism sector, so that they can offer a service that exceeds the expectations of our visitors. With this, we set the conditions so that our sector can sell more," he said.

Oscar Rueda García, director of the Office of the Executive Presidency of the Development Bank of Latin America, highlighted the current opportunity to obtain financing for sustainable tourism projects, through this institution, and said he was surprised by the characteristics of Querétaro as a tourist destination.

"I had had the opportunity to visit Mexico on several occasions, but today that I am in Querétaro, I find a very positive surprise. Here I didn't just find Mexico. I found something very special within Mexico. Here I found the colonial and historical richness, its architectural beauty, and the fact that it is an integrated product, not just a big city, it is a state that has the luxury of saying that it has six Magical Towns, which makes it one of the most attractive states in Mexico," he stressed.

The first "International Tourism Think Tank" forum was attended by specialists on the subject, who issued various positions and points of view on issues of high relevance to tourism in the world, such as the promotion, promotion and acceleration of the digitalization of tourism services; as an obligation for destinations and service providers.

Similarly, they expressed the need to permanently maintain data analysis, which allows improving decision-making for companies and organizations, as well as the design of promotion and marketing strategies; generate platforms and apply artificial intelligence to analyze data and personalize digital services for users.
