In a ceremony led by the Secretary of Tourism in the entity, Adriana Vega Vázquez Mellado, the third National Contest of Pinchos and Tapas Mexico was inaugurated, as well as the second edition of the Tapas Contest of the Americas, events that bring together chefs, cooks and gastronomic talents from Mexico, America and Spain, in a celebration of creativity, Tradition and innovation.
During the opening ceremony, he stressed that gastronomy is one of the most powerful languages we have as humanity, since, through dishes, identity, culture and history are bought; so these gastronomic competitions, in addition to showcasing the culinary talent of chefs and cooks, also build bridges between regions and countries.
The state official thanked the authorities of Valladolid, Spain, for trusting Querétaro again as the venue for these contests, as well as Eva García Cuervo, director of the contests, for her vision and dedication to consolidate this international meeting.
"To the chefs, cooks, juries and participants of this contest, I want to wish you the greatest success. This space is his, to show his talent, his innovation and, above all, his passion for cooking. Because behind each tapa there is a story to tell, a memory to share and a dream that materializes in flavors," he said.
In this context, he announced that next Monday, September 29, the sale of tickets will begin that will start the direct Madrid-Querétaro flight with the Iberojet airline, which will open a new window to tourism and strengthen the cultural and gastronomic ties between Spain and Mexico.
He also reported that those cooks and chefs who are winners of the National Contest of Pinchos and Tapas Mexico and the Contest of Tapas of the Americas; will have the opportunity to travel to Valladolid, Spain, to participate in the World Contest that takes place every year.
The ceremony was attended by the head of Promotion of the Ministry of Tourism of the Embassy of Spain in Mexico, Begoña Fernández; the Secretary of Tourism of the municipality of Querétaro, Mariana Ortiz Cabrera; the renowned Chef, Mikel Alonso, as president of the Jury; the president of the Querétaro Wine Cluster, Eugenio Parrodi Wiechers; and the president of CANIRAC Querétaro, Citlalli Camacho.
With this type of event, Querétaro reaffirms its commitment to promote gastronomy as a pillar of its tourism and cultural offer, and to strengthen international ties that enrich the identity of the state.
