To kick off the harvest season in the state of Querétaro, the State Secretariat of Tourism (SECTUR), through the Director of Tourism Promotion, Rodrigo Ibarra Lozano, together with state and municipal authorities, as well as wine entrepreneurs, announced the third edition of the Marqués Haciendas and Vineyards Festival, to be held this Saturday, June 14. at the Hacienda Atongo (located in the municipality of El Marqués).
During his speech, Rodrigo Ibarra highlighted that the wine region of Querétaro ranks second nationally in importance, with labels that have been recognized and awarded in national competitions. He stressed that events like this strengthen wine tourism and the cultural identity of the state.
"The Marqués Haciendas and Vineyards Festival is a reflection of the collaborative work between the public and private sectors to detonate experiences that enhance our culture, history, wine production and hospitality," he said.
This event has established itself as one of the most anticipated celebrations of wine tourism in Querétaro and will offer a unique experience with the participation of more than 30 labels of Querétaro wine, exquisite gastronomy, sensory tastings, equestrian exhibitions, pre-Hispanic blessing of the harvest and recreational activities for the whole family.
The president of the Association of Haciendas and Vineyards of El Marqués, Jaime Niembro, thanked the support of the Ministry of Tourism, and its head Adriana Vega Vázquez Mellado, and mentioned that an influx of around 700 people is expected, including local visitors and tourists interested in learning more about the wine tourism offer of the municipality.
"This festival is consolidated as a showcase to show the quality of our wines and the effort of the participating farms, who keep the tradition of the field and the harvest alive," said Niembro.
It should be noted that among the participating wine houses are: Hacienda Atongo, Vinos del Marqués, María y Bernardo, Viñedos del Polo, Puerta del Lobo among other exponents of the quality and winemaking tradition of El Marqués.
On the other hand, as part of the gastronomic offer, there will be dishes from Rancho Santa Marina, La Misión de Chichimequillas, Hacienda Casa el Molino, Bocca Lupo and Ex Hacienda El Lobo.
