Pride of our state, it shares culture, history and natural goodness
Ezequiel Montes is a small municipality with great wealth, located between the central valleys and the Queretaro semi-desert, with a pleasant climate most of the year.
The most visited tourist attraction in the municipality is the Peña de Bernal, the largest monolith in the world, named one of the 13 Natural Wonders of Mexico and a Protected Natural Area.
Pueblo Mágico
Bernal was named a magical town in 2006
Apart from the Peña de Bernal, other cultural attractions in the place are the Museum of La Máscara, the Museum of the National Cinema Rosalío Solano, the Museum of the Souls and the House Museum of Sweets, in the latter you not only learn about traditional sweets, but you can also buy and taste them.
Villa Progreso, an important delegation in the municipality, hides among its corners one of the most representative millenary cultures of our state. The Hñähñus tribe from Tecozautla settled in this area around 1942 and have become a cultural and gastronomic treasure in Querétaro.
This small town houses old Otomi chapels, workshops that produce ixtle, and others that manufacture ceramics, such as Cerámica Servín.
In the heart of the Art, Cheese and Wine Route
In the generous land of Ezequiel Montes, all the optimal geo-climatic characteristics converge for the cultivation of the vine, which is why viticulture has prospered as an economic activity.
The most notable vineyards in the area are La Redonda, Finca Sala Vivé by Freixenet, De Cote, Viñedos Azteca, Bodegas Vaivén and Bodega Bothë, the latter located in Villa Progreso.

In addition to the good wine produced in the region, Ezequiel Montes stands out for having a wide variety of dishes made with pre-Hispanic culinary techniques, and ingredients that you only find in this area of the semi-desert.
A must is the nopal en penca and the gorditas de maíz quebrado.
An artisan village
Workshops inherited from generation to generation, become part of the history of the region.
In addition to the ixtle and ceramics produced in Villa Progreso, in Ezequiel the wool fabrics made on old looms stand out, especially those produced in La Aurora, one of the oldest workshops in Bernal, dedicated to creating jorongos, blankets, rugs and everything necessary for the cold.
