The Anbanica Museum of History in Corregidora is one of the obligatory points if you want to know the glorious past of Querétaro. Get to know it, it is made for the whole family and offers unique collections.
Unraveling a little known story
Querétaro was born in the Cerro del Sangremal, as the historical chronicle tells of the founding of the city. At a considerable distance from that hill, stands a pyramid that symbolizes the pre-Hispanic past of an entire State. The pyramid of El Cerrito, in the municipality of Corregidora, bears witness to another type of Queretaro birth.
"There is no certainty of when Corregidora was born," says Víctor Ávila, director of the Anbanica Museum of History in Corregidora, perhaps because Corregidora always existed, the message floats in the air.
The Museum, located in the old municipal office, on Josefa Ortiz de Domínguez street in front of the El Pueblito Main Garden, bears faithful testimony to a history as rich and vast as it is little known. The work that has been done in Corregidora to unravel the mysteries that keeps what was once the Valley of Querétaro are young. Some of those important puzzle pieces can be found at the Anbanica Museum.
Art, culture, and society in one place
For the time being, you can access the first stage, which has a section of rooms with documents and testimonies about the formation of society in Villa Corregidora. On the wall, you can see cartographic works that gave shape to a community under construction, as well as records of works of art and traditions of the municipality.
The MUSAH aims to be a meeting point between society, culture, art, and dialogue for Corregidora.
