Reaching the heights: a journey of generations
In 1982, the visionary Capt. Eduardo Cortés became the forerunner of aerostatism in Mexico when he fulfilled his dream of founding the factory dedicated to the manufacture of hot air balloons, SEPANSA BALLOONS.
This factory is the only one certified in the Republic for the production of these balloons since its foundation and is located in Tequisquiapan.
From this great dream are born other initiatives dedicated to aerostatism, such as SEGANI (Specialized Services in National and International Hot Air Balloons), specialized in the maintenance of hot air balloons nationally and internationally and CIGA (Hot Air Balloon Instruction Center) which instructs and trains future hot air balloon pilots.
Some time later, Capt. Eduardo would settle in the Ex-Hacienda de Apulco, Hidalgo, to take to the air and fulfill the dream of flying in a balloon of thousands of passengers by the hand of his wife Nohemí Domínguez.
Years later, his daughter Viridiana Cortés Domínguez would take the reins of SEPANSA BALLOONS, later creating Grupo Vuela en Globo that makes up the company SEPANSA BALLOONS, CIGA, SEGANI and Vuela en Globo.
"Doing what you like, condemns you to success", is the phrase that has guided Viridiana and Grupo Vuela en Globo for more than 40 years.
