Querétaro celebrated the 27th anniversary of one of its most iconic places, the Mesón de Chucho el Roto, a place where different generations of Querétaros converge to enjoy the best gastronomy.
Legend has it that the bandit named Jesús Arriaga, nicknamed 'Chucho el Roto' was a sort of Robin Hood from Querétaro. At a time when Querétaro society moved by cart, that figure of the kind rebel emerged.
Years passed, decades passed, and in Querétaro a mythical place emerged that would create an equal or even greater legend. El Mesón de Chucho el Roto opened its doors in 1995, a restaurant that would delight Querétaros, travelers, families, businessmen, children and adults.
The González family, leaders in the gastronomic industry of Querétaro, celebrated one more year of one of the jewels in the crown. That emblematic place that gives life to Plaza de Armas, a restaurant with which they pay tribute to the gastronomy of Querétaro, that which was born in the convents of New Spain.
There are already three generations that have enjoyed providing a unique service and dishes that are reinvented every year. It has been almost three decades of generating identity and roots in the streets of the Historic Center of Querétaro.
The celebration could not have been more special, a full restaurant, with the sounds of the hubbub produced by the most central square in Querétaro, the aroma of the stoves at full speed to serve Mexican dishes to those present.
The Mesón de Chucho el Roto provided its traditional and excellent service to those who visited it, as it has done for the last 27 years and as it will do for so many more. These were the wishes of José Antonio González and his daughter, Rocío González, two emblems of local restaurants.
In the corridors of the Mesón, more than one diner was heard congratulating the staff, who as every day give their best to achieve excellence.
The music continued throughout the day of celebration, as it has done for 27 years, a symbol that brings together entire families in Plaza de Armas, either to taste the menu of Chucho el Roto or simply to join the applause.
It was thus concluded with a pleasant celebration, where the origins were remembered and the future of an emblematic site was promoted.
