Mauricio Márquez and Virginia Castro had a dream about a bridge, their own bridge; a building that not only united them as a couple, but also served as motivation to reach the goal they set for themselves: their place, their space, their history.
Today, they are a married couple of over 27 years who are crossing a bridge full of challenges around tourism in the municipality of Cadereyta de Montes. For this reason, in 2008 they acquired the Hacienda Tovares and since then they have dedicated themselves to the promotion and development of a historical point in the state of Querétaro.
It was Mauricio who infected Virginia with the love for nature. They traveled very often to ranches and little by little they were forging their project. They assembled their menus in the company of the Instituto Gastronómico de Estudios Superiores, built stables, gave personality to the space, designed their own bridge and opened the Hacienda Tovares to the public.
Currently, they have a boutique hotel, a hostel and impressive natural landscapes, all of which - they are clear - aimed at generating a positive impact on the ecosystem of that area of the semi-desert, they work with environmental management units and employ more than 30 people in the tourism sector.
Mauricio Márquez and Virginia Castro – accountant and administrator, their respective professions – continue in their work of enhancing the semi-desert area, proud of the municipality of Cadereyta de Montes, working on the noble mission of strengthening tourism, preserving the flora and fauna of the place and, of course, crossing that bridge of their hacienda together as many times as necessary.
