Located in the center of the country, Querétaro limits to the north with the state of San Luis Potosí, to the west with the state of Guanajuato, to the east with the state of Hidalgo, to the southeast with the State of Mexico, and to the southwest with the state of Michoacan.
Querétaro is linked to the rest of the country through a modern and extensive road infrastructure. If you prefer, and with a direct connection by bus just three hours away, the Mexico City International Airport (AICM), the most important in the country, offers all possible options to connect Querétaro with the world.
Querétaro is a melting pot of very diverse experiences and destinations, and the climate could not be the exception, however, the temperature is pleasant and its variation between seasons is less.
The climate of Querétaro is as varied as its geography. In the central valleys that comprise the Creative Metropolis , San Juan del Río and its surroundings, the climate is mild and quite pleasant most of the year, with temperatures ranging between 16º and 22ºC.
In the Bosques y Campos del Sur , which includes Amealco de Bonfil and Huimilpan, the climate is a little cooler. The temperature fluctuates between 14º and 16ºC.
In the semi-desert, which takes part of the Region of Wines and Cheeses and the entrance of the Sierra Gorda , the climate is dry with temperatures between 18º and 21ºC
In the pine and oak forests, in the south of the Sierra Gorda , the climate is humid, with an average temperature of around 14º C.
Finally, in the tropical jungle areas, the upper part of the Sierra Gorda that includes Jalpan de Serra, Landa de Matamoros and Arroyo Seco, the climate is humid, with temperatures almost always above 20º C.
In Querétaro, winter is noticeable, because the temperature decreases, and in the highest areas of the state, especially in the wonderful region of Sierra Gorda , it paints a dreamlike landscape.
Winter brings random weather changes. Dawn near 4º C and during the day it can rise up to 20º C. The winter weather usually visits us between November and February. You may be surprised by sunrise with dense fog since half a day you are discovered under the rays of the sun, but that goodness of having sunny days practically all year round makes Querétaro a welcoming destination regardless of the season.
