On August 11, 12 and 13, the National Holstein Forum was held at the Querétaro Congress Center , which brings together breeders, suppliers, businessmen and enthusiasts of the Holstein breed to share, for three days, their knowledge, skills and enthusiasm for livestock.
Querétaro has been home to this forum in four of the eleven editions it has had, so Dr. Felipe de Jesús Ruiz López, General Director of Holstein Mexico stated that "The Holstein Association was born in Querétaro, has its offices here and we believe that this state is key in the livestock industry. It is an entity located in a dairy area with a lot of culture in the production of this product (...) we have a very special affection for the state of Querétaro."
The FONAHolstein 2022 conference included a series of conferences with speakers from countries such as the United States, Canada, Uruguay and Brazil with leaders in areas such as nutrition, growth, reproduction of dairy cows, genetic improvement of this type of cattle and in general and most importantly: how to manage this breed so that it produces more milk and lives longer and better.
In addition, there were more than 50 commercial exhibitors of great relevance with products such as machinery, agricultural equipment, new drugs and new genetics, all in the context of milk production. On the last day, the participants were part of the cattle contest in which Holstein cows were judged throughout the day.
The General Director of Holstein Mexico commented that milk production is a very important source of work in Querétaro and the center of the country. It is an industry that employs thousands of families who live from this activity, so this type of convention aims to strengthen the entire chain in the production and consumption of products that use milk. From the raising of the cow, the production of the forage with which they are fed, the care of livestock, the obtaining, processing of the milk and finally, the sale to the consumer.
