In the Sierra Gorda, passing those rivers that meet, in the middle of Arroyo Seco where the green of the trees dresses everything your eyes see, the Vive la Vid festival found its home. The Hotel Misión Concá was the ideal venue, with its Franciscan theme, its history of more than 200 years and its half-century-old ceibas, to host this colorful tribute to wine.
Within the framework of International Wine Day - October 1 - Vive la Vid managed to integrate the semi-desert region with the Sierra Gorda region, this festival set out to promote Querétaro wine by showing the success stories of the vineyards and demonstrating their products among the attendees.
Eduardo Mata Arriaga, Tourism Assistant and organizer of Vive la Vid referred to this event as "A unique experience, to see two regions in a paradise such as Concá, it is an incomparable experience, that they can taste and see different nuances and different flavors in this wonderful environment, in this paradise, we believe that our visitors can take something that cannot be had in any other region of Querétaro"
Tequisquiapan was present at the event with wicker products made by artisans of the region and with wines from Freixenet and Hilo de amor and with the presence of Janet Lozada, Director of Tourism of Tequisquiapan; Colón for its part had a presence with its Flor de Alfalfa cheeses, Ezequiel Montes with the wines of Bodegas Bothë, while Arroyo Seco and Jalpan de Serra showed their cultural richness with handicrafts, cocoa products, typical ice cream, fruit liqueurs, honey, cuts of meat, jerky, among other things.
For its part, the Municipal President of Arroyo Seco, Ofelia del Castillo Guillén mentioned that the objective of this type of initiative is to promote sustainable and environmentally responsible tourism. "We want people to know this municipality because we have everything here: art, natural wealth, all the ecosystems, culture, history, traditions, (...) it was important to bring a reference such as the wine producers to promote among our artisans the yes we can and achieve what the semi-desert has achieved"
In addition, the guests were able to enjoy demonstrations of huapango, dj's and a rock group called "Heroica" that set the scene for more than 12 hours this festival that had free access. There was also a gastronomic contest called "Mexico, the flavors of being" and a talk on the gastronomic richness of the Sierra Gorda.
It is expected that this edition, in addition to being the first, will not be the last.
