With a ceremony led by the Secretary of Tourism, Adriana Vega Vázquez Mellado, the Monumental Altar of Plaza de Armas was inaugurated, which is dedicated to Dr. Octavio S. Mondragón Guerra, outstanding academic and humanist from Querétaro, founder of the Autonomous University of Querétaro; and through which a tribute was paid to education as an act of love and continuity.
During her message, the head of SECTUR stressed that it is precisely the celebrations for the Day of the Dead and All Saints, which represent one of the most rooted and beloved in the country. He recalled that the Day of the Dead Festival 2025 will offer cultural, artistic and gastronomic activities in the Historic Center, consolidating Querétaro as one of the most representative destinations in the country to live this tradition recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity
