The State Secretariat of Tourism (SECTUR), in the voice of the director of tourism promotion, Rodrigo Ibarra Lozano, together with the national and state leaders of the National Chamber of the Restaurant and Seasoned Food Industry (CANIRAC), announced the celebration of five decades of uninterrupted work in support, representation and strengthening of the restaurant guild in the state.
During this event, Rodrigo Ibarra Lozano recognized the impact of the restaurant sector on the identity and development of Querétaro; in addition to the fundamental role that the chamber plays in the social, tourist and economic life of the country.
"Today we celebrate the 50 years of institutional life of CANIRAC Querétaro, half a century of work, commitment and constant promotion of one of the most important sectors for the development of our state: gastronomy," he said.
He recognized all those who are part of this chamber: restaurateurs, cooks, chefs, businessmen, workers, entrepreneurs and suppliers, who have built, over five decades, a solid, diverse and deeply Querétaro culinary identity.
"CANIRAC has been, for 50 years, a strategic ally to strengthen this culinary richness. Together we have worked to professionalize the sector, preserve our traditions and open new development opportunities for hundreds of businesses," he said.
When taking the floor, the national president of CANIRAC, José Ignacio Alarcón Rodríguez Pacheco, underscored the strength of the Querétaro delegation and the importance of continuing to work in an articulated manner with the national organization to face the challenges of the sector and take advantage of its opportunities.
In this sense, the state president of CANIRAC, Citlalli Camacho Soltero, recognized the people who have led the delegation and the restaurant sector as a whole for their contribution as one of the most important economic engines of the country. He thanked the State Government for its support and stressed that there is a shared agenda to position Querétaro nationally as a gastronomic destination.
Also attending this event were the National Executive President of CANIRAC, Claudia Ramírez del Palacio; the president of the Querétaro Association of Hoteliers, Mónica Aguilar Torrentera; the president of the Querétaro Wine Cluster, Eugenio Parrodi, and the municipal Secretary of Tourism, Mariana Ortiz Cabrera; among other personalities.
