From Spain, the governor, Mauricio Kuri González, led the official presentation of the new direct flight between Querétaro and Madrid, which will be operated by the Iberojet airline, a subsidiary of the Ávoris Group, there he stressed that this route represents a significant advance for the internationalization of the state.
"This flight puts us in a privileged place on the global map. Connect people, cultures, and opportunities. And it confirms that Querétaro is ready to welcome the world. Querétaro and Spain will be closer than ever," he said.
It should be noted that the flight will begin operations in October with two weekly frequencies, an initial fare of 475 euros per leg, and with capacity for 432 passengers per plane. It is estimated that, annually, more than 119 thousand passengers travel from the Bajío region to Spain, which represents 11 percent of the national total.
During this presentation, the Secretary of Tourism of the state, Adriana Vega Vázquez Mellado, stressed that this new route responds to a tourism connectivity strategy with a focus on the European market.
"This flight is a commitment to value tourism, commercial relations and the international positioning of our state," he said.
When taking the floor, the CEO of Grupo Ávoris, Juan Carlos González, stressed that this new route symbolizes much more than an air bridge, as he said it is the opening of a direct door between Europe and central Mexico, in addition to being an opportunity to boost tourism, favor investment and strengthen cooperation between two worlds that share historical ties and a common look to the future.
