Marigeli Adazell is a designer who found in fashion a refuge and a means of expression. What began as a hobby ended up becoming a life path, resonating with those who identify with his creations.
Who used to buy fabrics and make clothes for the whole family. Each child chose what they wanted: a t-shirt, a dress, a skirt... and so, Marigeli grew up surrounded by creativity, which led her to experience the world of design for herself.
Its proposal focuses on slow fashion: contemporary but timeless fashion. Rather than following passing trends, she seeks to create garments that last over time. Sustainability is the basis of her work: she is not limited to a single type of material, her pieces can arise from new canvases, leftovers from other projects or fabrics found in any corner of the world.
It does not follow rigid patterns or fixed rules; Place the fabrics on the table and let your imagination guide the design. Each piece is unique and unrepeatable, made with different textiles and without predetermined sizes. If someone likes a garment, tries it on and fits, it is a sign that it was made for that person.
In addition, it integrates elements of traditional Mexican embroidery fused with contemporary touches that give it modernity and its own style. As a special detail, if the customer needs any adjustment to the garment, it is done at no additional cost.
Totem started in San Miguel de Allende with a concept store around 2010.
Her goal has always been the same: for people to express themselves through clothing, without fear of showing who they are, without blindly following trends and without caring about external opinions. Currently, you can also find his designs at Centro 6, in Tequisquiapan.
Marigeli has participated in fashion shows in Mexico City, Querétaro and other places; she has won competitions, was invited to present her work on the Hoy program, has designed for deputies and senators, and is currently preparing new collaborations. The truth is that Totem still has a lot to show and continue to surprise.
