Christmas is about to arrive and the State Secretariat of Tourism is preparing the city for you to enjoy long walks through the squares and walkways of the Historic Center that will be spectacularly illuminated, as every year.

Throughout December, the inhabitants of the city, as well as all visitors have the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the Historic Center like at no other time of the year, the stalls that are established around the Zenea Garden offer a wide variety of snacks, the planters are transformed into biblical Christmas settings for the impressive life-size Nativity scene that is an endearing tradition of the people of Querétaro, but also the concerts and activities that take place during this month.

Parades, concerts, open-air dances, parades, presentations and various activities that pay tribute to history, tradition and the Christmas spirit that smiles on all people during the season.
The Patronato de las Fiestas de Querétaro organizes a series of activities every year as part of an extensive program in which traditions take place, even with almost one hundred and two hundred years of history, such as the Christmas parades and the parade of Biblical Carts, for example.
It all begins during the last weeks of November with the presentation and proclamation of the Queen of Christmas and the departure of the Announcement Chariot in which she, aboard an allegorical float around the first square of the center, "gives the news" of the beginning of the festivities in the city. Days later, the Christmas Herald is presented, whose uninterrupted publication for more than 120 years contains essays, poems, photographs and articles with the best of science and literature of Querétaro society.
Then, during the first week of December, after the lighting of the Friendship Tree, everything turns into excitement and celebrations in the Historic Center: rondallas, the Coronation (official and public) of the Queen of Christmas 2024, and the rides of the Carros de las Posadas that run through the main streets of the center, as well as the main neighborhoods of the city, during the two weeks leading up to Christmas.
On a Sunday prior to December 24, the State Music Band presents its traditional Christmas concert to the general public, with the pieces and carols, masterfully performed by the band and members of the Querétaro Philharmonic Orchestra.
On December 23, the Christmas Parade takes place, which celebrates, this 2024, its 98th Anniversary honoring these traditions through the streets of the Historic Center; however, the next day the Biblical Chariot parade celebrates 198 years of representations of various scenes around the birth of Jesus Christ.
From there to the New Year, open-air dances and serenades fill the streets of the heart of the city with joy to culminate with the arrival of 2025, a celebration accompanied by musical shows in the main squares of the center, leaving the memory of a wonderful and moving season that concludes with the parade of the Three Kings for all the families who pass through the center of the city of Querétaro.

During this season, the State DIF System has been organizing the FESTIVAL OF JOY for three years, which takes different shows and activities throughout the state for the enjoyment of Querétaro families.
Among the most emblematic activities of this festival, which will last from December 1 to January 5, 2025, is the placement of ice skating rinks in different municipalities of the state and allegorical parades with characters from popular culture.
