Querétaro was chosen as one of the venues for the World Polo Championship qualifiers to be played this year in Florida, United States, and for the finals of the Copa México for the Centennial of the Mexican Polo Federation.
Although little known, Mexico has figured internationally in the world of polo, an equestrian sport that was born in our country among the circles of politicians and high society at the end of the nineteenth century, but that even today continues to have a high competitive level in our country.
Since its participation in the Olympic Games in Paris, in 1900, or in the Berlin Games, in 1936, the last edition in which Polo was considered an Olympic sport, Mexico has been among the most outstanding countries in this sport, participating in various competitions and in the Polo World Championships that were inaugurated in the 80s.
Thanks to this and to the great riders that Mexico has had in the last century, the Federation of International Polo has decided to give our country the venue for the World Polo World Cup qualifiers, after several years of being held in the United States and Canada, and at the same time commemorate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Mexican Polo Federation. which will be celebrated with the Mexico Centennial Cup, in Querétaro and Guanajuato.
Located in the municipality of El Marqués, this vineyard, which marks the entrance to the Querétaro Wine Region, will be the venue for games 1 and 2 of the World Cup Qualifiers, and Final of the FMP Mexico Centennial Cup.
