Just thirty minutes from Juriquilla you will find this oak forest that is well worth a getaway. The Joya la Barreta Recreational Park is a natural area of 245 hectares, protected and sheltered for your enjoyment, to generate moments of contemplation, spend quality time with the family and raise awareness in visitors about the importance of taking care of the flora and fauna of the region.
This park, open to the public since 2003, is located in the heart of the Municipal Delegation of Santa Rosa Jauregui (between the community of La Barreta and La Joya) and is an experience if you like nature. It offers endless alternatives for the leisure and recreation of children, young people and adults.

It also provides options for environmental education, reforestation programs and ideal facilities for business courses, team buildings, training, camps, children's parties, cultural or sporting events, reforestation days, workshops or guided tours.
With safe camping areas, palapas, barbecues, playgrounds, esplanade with grass, parking, restrooms, viewpoints, campfire areas, hiking trails and special paths for mountain biking or horseback riding, Joya la Barreta has won the hearts of everyone who visits it.
Everything you need to know.
For you to enjoy the full experience, we recommend you arrive early. Joya la Barreta is open from Wednesday to Sunday from 10:00am to 6:00pm if you are not going camping. You can enter with any type of vehicle, the road does not generate much challenge to get there and you can enter with all your food and drinks (don't forget anything since the nearest store is 15 minutes away by car).
General access has a cost of 16 pesos per person. To make use of one of its palapas you will have to pay 30 pesos per family and 32 pesos per tent if you decide to stay overnight. Your pet is not invited to this experience, the place is not pet friendly, since it has 32 species of fauna native to the region that can be affected by the visit of puppies.
