Dio began another edition of the Hay Festival. For the seventh time, Querétaro hosts the festival that brings together some of the brightest minds in the world of literature, journalism, science, arts and culture in general, internationally.
The Historic Center of Querétaro will witness cultural events from September 1 to 4; 94 activities, led by 148 personalities from 15 different countries, will seek to imagine the world, question and talk about the issues that make up the global agenda today.
Inauguration 2022
The Teatro de la Ciudad, one of the main stages of the Hay Festival, hosted the opening ceremony. State and municipal authorities of Querétaro in their culture and tourism offices, as well as the international director of the Hay Festival, Cristina Fuentes, and Tawakkol Karman, winner of the Nobel Peace Prize in 2011, led the ribbon cutting to start the Festival.
Mariela Morán Ocampo, Secretary of Tourism of the State of Querétaro, pointed out the importance of hosting this type of event in the state, as well as the emergence of Querétaro as an entity full of culture, education, development and magical places.
In front of a packed Teatro de la Ciudad, the Mexican pianist Jorge Viladoms performed, who was accompanied on stage by dancers from the Monterrey Ballet.
Her presentation was full of nostalgia, beauty and talent. Those present applauded the various facets for which the pianist led the entire audience at the start of the Hay Festival 2022 activities.
A party for Querétaro
During the opening ceremony, some of the most outstanding events that this seventh edition will have were mentioned, talks in which characters such as Felipe Restrepo, Juan Miguel Álvarez, Juan Tallón, Tawakkol Karman, Olivia Zerón, Elisa Guerra, Horacio Castellanos Moya, Jarvis Coker, Wole Soyinka, Rosa Montero, among many others, will be present.
The Hay Festival will arrive for the first time in other municipalities of Querétaro. Ezequiel Montes, Tequisquiapan and Corregidora will have some of the presentations of this festival; as well as the seven delegations of the state capital. The mayor of Querétaro, Luis Bernardo Nava, celebrated this cultural opening at the opening ceremony.
Hay Joven and Hay Festivalito is an effort that is made to reach university students and children, take events to universities and carry out actions with the little ones to instill culture and the arts.
