If nature is your thing, learn about the uses and benefits that plants have for man and walk quietly while learning about the flora of a place, the Autonomous University of Querétaro Campus Concá has created this Ethnobiological Garden for you.

Here you will find living collections of native species created to learn about and preserve the biodiversity that Arroyo Seco has and thus rescue the mountain culture by showing visitors the uses that their ancestors gave to the flowers, stems, fruits and leaves of the area.

In an area of almost two hectares, there is the collaboration of researchers, professors, biologists, horticulturists and students of the UAQ to reproduce and conserve the particular biodiversity of Concá.

All the native natural species that have been planted in this garden have been placed in three collections that visitors can visit with a guide who will answer questions and explain them in detail. These are the collection of Traditional Productive Systems, Non-Timber Forest Species and Timber Forest Species.

As you walk, this series of plants will open a door to the knowledge of the biocultural richness of the area, the respect that its inhabitants have for its flora and will imprint on you the need to preserve these resources for this and future generations.

The Concá Ethnobiological Garden is established thanks to the support of CONACyT and has more than 100 species native to the area that dress a small path that the visitor can walk and that serves as a perfect setting for contemplation and reflection.

This site aims to rescue the traditional knowledge of natural resources while documenting, safeguarding, maintaining, conserving and publicizing the uses of the biocultural diversity of the region.

The Garden is free and is open Tuesday through Friday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm and Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm by reservation only. You can organize your guided tour by emailing jardin.etnobiologico.conca@gmail.com. The tour lasts about an hour.
