Learn a little about the history of La Casa Mota.

Located at number 71 on Francisco I. Madero Street, with balconies overlooking the Temple of Santa Clara, this house has witnessed historical moments for the country and the state. Built in 1700, it functioned as the Mesón de la Luz political club in 1880 before being acquired by the Mota family in 1901. This family rebuilt it and gave it the French personality art nouveau in finishes and decorations that it preserves to this day.

In 1916, it became the Casa del Agrarista and National Palace for three months during the presidency of Venustiano Carranza. In 1929, it became the Government Palace of the State of Querétaro and was occupied by eight governors until 1943.

In addition, this house has a chapel decorated by Diego Rivera in his student years and a mural made under the baton of cleric José Mosqueda.

Located in the Historic Center of one of the most beautiful cities in the country, La Casa Mota becomes the perfect setting for any type of event, whether social or business.

It has two patios - Moroco and Francés - with a maximum capacity of 120 people and four rooms, Venustiano, Carranza, Central and Doña Tere, ideal for work sessions, meetings, breakfasts or small events. In addition, it has the convenience of a parking lot that will make it easier for your guests to attend.

Among the original details that La Casa Mota preserves from its years of glory are the floors, its fountain, ceilings, mural painting on the walls, stairs, window and door frames, which also makes it the ideal place for photo shoots.

If you want to hold your event here, we recommend that you reserve your date several months in advance. Come closer, get to know it, tour its patios, rooms and hallways, learn about its history and discover the magic that surrounds the walls of La Casa Mota.
