In a globalized and fast-paced world, where sometimes we barely perceive what is happening around us, it will always be necessary to have a space of calm and sensitivity. A place where we can stop, contemplate and explore what we feel through art. One such site is the Carla Negrete Art Gallery.
Located in Centro 6, an art and design collective in Tequisquiapan, this project was born with the idea of becoming a cultural center in the region: a collaborative space that promotes the artistic and cultural economy, in addition to serving as a perfect stage for local and foreign talents.
Carla Negrete, founder of the gallery and Centro 6, has a solid academic background in art. From a very young age she showed inclination and passion for expressing herself through creation, which led her to found this space with the firm purpose of giving a voice to both emerging artists and consolidated creators.
The gallery organizes around four exhibitions a year, with the aim that both locals and tourists can get closer to art, enjoy it and feel part of a creative community that is nourished by different perspectives.
Throughout its history, various artists of national and international stature have left their mark on this space. Among them are the renowned plastic artist Orlando Díaz, with his exhibition Glimpses of the Cities of Memory; the outstanding engraver José Rincón, with Two Centuries for Spanish Engraving; and, more recently, Santiago Boldó, with his exhibition Figuraciones.
The Carla Negrete Art Gallery is not just an exhibition space, it is a bridge between emotions, cultures and generations. Each work presented opens the possibility of stopping in the midst of the noise of the world and reminding us that art continues to be a universal language that connects us.
