CADEREYTA OF MOUNTAINS

Swipe down

This municipality has a geographical variety: semi-desert climate in the south (with impressive botanical gardens), wooded in the north and an island in the middle of the Zimapán dam that houses a quiet ecotourism camp.

It received the designation of Pueblo Mágico in August 2011 in recognition of its 376 years of history, magic and medicinal wisdom inherited from the nomadic Chichimec, Pame and Jonace peoples who inhabited this region.

In Cadereyta is the archaeological zone of Toluquilla, some pre-Hispanic ruins dating back to 400 AD and one of the oldest and most important Franciscan temples in the region.
