With the Parish of San Pedro and San Pablo in the municipal capital, we begin our tour of this impressive place.
This municipality has a geographical variety: semi-desert climate in the south (with impressive botanical gardens), wooded in the north and an island in the middle of the Zimapán dam that houses a quiet ecotourism camp.
In addition to being an increasingly creative destination, and aimed at science, as they house the Dr. José Hernández Moreno Planetarium, which has two impressive telescopes, one solar and one astronomical. And it has recently been named as the "National Capital of Chess".
It received the appointment in August 2011 in recognition of its 376 years of history, magic and medicinal wisdom inherited from the nomadic Chichimeca, Pame and Jonace peoples who inhabited this region.
Zimapán Dam

Here is the famous Tzibanzá Island, ecotourism cabins perfect for relaxing and disconnecting from everything, also very close to there is another cabin complex called Punta Xhodé, as well as springs and pools perfect for swimming in summer.
Cadereyta is a great exponent of the flora and fauna of the semi-desert, especially the flora, which is preserved and studied in the most interesting botanical gardens in the region, these are Quinta Fernando Schmoll and the Regional Botanical Garden of Cadereyta.

In addition, in the mountain area of this municipality you can visit small and quiet villages, such as El Doctor, where the beautiful Cueva del Tecolote is located; or Maconí, which after a stretch of hiking are Cascada Velo de Novia and El Cañón del Caracol; or the community of La Esperanza, where the Grutas de la Esperanza await.

Handicrafts are an important part of their cultural tradition, so you will find different handicraft products throughout the municipality, such as marble in Vizarrón, or pottery that is typical of Boxasní and La Magdalena.
Also in different workshops in the center of Cadereyta you will see that it is very common to find saddlery, a trade that has lasted for generations, where they work with leather to create saddles, belts, wallets, etc.
