Mónica Bustamante founded the "First Inclusive Route Querétaro," an effort she undertakes in search of spaces and experiences for those who suffer from visual, motor, or auditory disabilities, and for senior citizens.
Mónica Bustamante is a guide certified by the State of Querétaro, holds a Master's degree in State and Municipal Public Administration from the Autonomous University of Querétaro, and has a degree in Tourism Administration.
From the very beginning as a graduate, Mónica worked in tourism, both in the public and private sectors.
The organization of various events, group tours, visits, media relations, and collaborations in tourism-focused media have been some of the tasks she has performed.
In developing ideas to provide a better experience for tourists, she founded the First Inclusive Route Querétaro project, in addition to personal goals and objectives. Mónica became concerned and focused on creating a method for people with disabilities to experience the tourist attractions of the Historic Center of Querétaro with their families.
Her Inclusive Route was awarded in the Social Tourism category at the past Tianguis Turístico de Acapulco 2022. For this call, 26 projects from 11 states of the country participated, of which only four achieved the award, including Mónica.
The Querétaro tourism promoter has the dream of taking this Inclusive Route to every corner of the State. She believes that the 18 municipalities need programs that seek to improve the tourist experiences of all people, and it is mandatory to open areas for those who suffer from a disability and have the same illusion of living and enjoying the magic that the streets of Querétaro have.
Mónica is convinced that accessibility is the key to breaking barriers, and in Querétaro, her project is making a difference.
