This municipality in the south of the state of Querétaro houses in its valleys and wide expanses, impressive haciendas that were an important part of the wealth generated and distributed by the Camino Real de Tierra Adentro.
Some of the most beautiful haciendas found in this territory are the former Escolásticas, San Cirilo, La Lira and El Sáuz haciendas, themselves characters in history.
