This municipality is highly recommended to enjoy the delights of rural tourism in Mexico. In Huimilpan, tourists have eco-tourism entertainment within their reach at the camp located at the San Pedro dam, as well as at El Cimatario National Park.
Visitors arrive at this site, mainly, with the aim of resting. It is characterized by its convenience for sport fishing, a magnificent climate for sunbathing or bicycle rides. Precisely for those people interested in cycling and its fascinating environment, Huimilpan has an excellent attraction: the El Aserrín cycling route.
However, in this neighboring municipality of the capital there are also 2 of the most important gourmet cheese factories in Querétaro ( Quesos Pradales , Rancho San Josemaría ) and some colonial haciendas that can be exclusive locations for events (Hacienda Lagunillas, Hacienda El Vegil, The Manor).
Regarding the cultural attractions of the town of Huimilpan, we recommend visiting the Parroquia de San Miguel Arcángel, which was built in 1716. In its early days, it was owned by the Franciscans and it was not until 1941, when it was declared a Parish.
