Halfway between Querétaro and Tequisquiapan is the Tierra de Alonso Hotel, where cheese, wine and beer come together. This hotel and vineyard, which produces white, rosé and red wines, has helped the Querétaro art, cheese and wine route to position itself as the second best tourist route in the country, an award given at the last Tourist Tianguis in Mexico. Its VAI Cheese Factory is a pioneer in the region.
