This small square harbors ceiba trees of more than 100 years old, it is important for being the scene of innumerable historical events during the independence, reforma and revolution wars, when these trees were used for the execution of prisoners.
Between 1950 and 1979 it housed the municipal tianguis, until the construction of the municipal market in 1980.
It currently has ornate benches decorated with small ceramic pieces from dishes and earthenware.
