El Castillo

The most representative building of Bernal's architecture is undoubtedly the so-called castle. It dates from the 18th and 19th centuries. It is arranged in a corner. On the south side it faces the parish, while on the east side it faces the main street and adjoins the portals. It was conceived as a local administration site. In fact, it continues to function as the delegational headquarters. Inside, the construction is simple. Most of it is a single-story house that is divided into five rooms. It has a bay and a pentagonal tower of double height; the clock inside, which faces the main square and is of German origin, stands out from the latter. It also has a huge community auditorium.
