Harvest 2022
The traditionalSala Vivé Winery in Freixenet Mexico experienced a weekend of shows, art and a lot of happiness. Their Harvest festivities began, which is why from Friday, August 5, the celebration was full of vineyards in one of the most iconic vine fields in Querétaro.
Freixenet offered different activities to its thousands of attendees in three days of the Grape Harvest. From the early hours of the day, workshops were held to learn about the different processes around wine and its varieties, as well as the traditional tastings, some with elements such as chocolates, honey or cigars from the Royal Tobacco Factory.
Different sommeliers were present at this type of meeting; Mina Carlín and Miriam Partida were some of the experts who participated with those present, this in order to promote wine culture in the region.
The deepest cellar in Latin America
The Freixenet Harvest Festival 2022 was attended by municipal and state authorities, who were at the protocol events to kick off this traditional celebration. On Friday, August 5, the blessing of the grapes was carried out, a rite that always fills those present with emotion because of its meaning with the earth.
From this moment on, the attendees enjoyed a sunny afternoon in which different dishes were sold to accompany the most classic wines of the Freixenet house.
Tours were also made to the cellar, where they listened to the history of the Sala Vive family and their contribution to the Mexican wine culture, and particularly Querétaro. The Freixenet cellar is the deepest in Latin America, it is 25 metres deep, something that stands out on these tours.
The night of Manuel Mijares
In the large gardens of the vineyard, the guests lived together and enjoyed the various musical shows that were presented during the day. Gastronomy, handicrafts, items from the wine culture and the wines themselves were the elements that gave life and color to this Grape Harvest festival.
The different days of festivities always ended with a musical show of international quality. On the opening day, attendees enjoyed the renowned Mexican performer Manuel Mijares. His songs thrilled the hundreds of participants on a majestic stage full of followers of the mythical 'Soldier of Love'. Their songs made children and adults vibrate, the toasts resounded throughout the stage and gave life to the Querétaro night. It was a party in every sense of the word.
The following harvest nights had the same ending, the audience was moved by the music of Jenny & The Mexicats on Saturday 6 or with the singer Fernando de la Mora on Sunday 7 August. There were three days and nights of partying, meeting and above all of emotion in front of an audience dedicated to the wine celebration at the house of wine, Bodega Sala Vivé de Freixenet Mexico
