Biosphere Reserve

The Sierra Gorda Biosphere Reserve encompasses several mountain municipalities, including Pinal de Amoles.

The Reserve was created in 1997, and is administered by the National Commission of Natural Protected Areas (CONANP), which has undoubtedly helped the preservation of beautiful sites and the balance between its reservation and the tourism that visits it.

Pinal, belonging to this reserve, is a municipality that encompasses traditions, culture and of course, natural areas. They are undoubtedly in favor of promoting ecotourism among their attractions, promoting sustainable practices and the preservation of the environment.

Puente de Dios, a must-see on your visit.

Arriving at the head of Pinal de Amoles, just half an hour away we find this wooded place in the community of Río Escanela.

The adventure begins on a beautiful path covered by the shade of beautiful poplars, which follows the Escanela River. You will have to bring out your adventurous side by jumping over mossy rocks, crossing improvised stairs, and even walking in the same riverbed.

After this walk, the Angostura Canyon awaits you, which as its name says, the challenge is to go on a narrow path attached to the stone walls passing over the river.

You should take the tour calmly, enjoying the singing of the birds, the croaking of the frogs and the music of the water walking its way; even swimming a little in the natural pools, which surprise with their beautiful turquoise blue color.

After about thirty minutes you will see Puente de Dios, a charming place where you can cool off in the water. This small cave with stalactites dripping water is undoubtedly the perfect postcard.

Anticipate your visit

To get to know Puente de Dios, you must make a reservation with certified guides, this to guarantee you a quality service and safety during your visit.

Likewise, the price of access varies, so it is essential that you have optimal communication with your travel manager.

We remind you that Puente de Dios belongs to an extremely important reserve for the balance of the ecosystem, so it is necessary to respect the natural environment, wildlife and the local community.
