The Templo del Dulce Nombre de Jesus, popularly known as Templo de Teresitas was the work of architect Francisco Tresguerras, and its construction lasted from 1793 to 1805. During the Reformation this convent was used as barracks by the imperialists, and its bells were melted to become ammunition, later it was occupied by General Mariano Escobedo.
It consists of a vaulted nave and a facade of six Ionic columns of quarry stone and neoclassical style.
At present, this former convent is the seat of the Diocesan Curia of Queretaro and the José Guadalupe Velázquez Conservatory of Music.
