Templo de Santa Rosa de Viterbo

Temple of Santa Rosa de Viterbo

This temple was in charge of the architect Ignacio Mariano de las Casas. It was built at the end of the XVII century and at the beginning of the XVIII century, in honor to the virgin Santa Rosa de Viterbo, being at the beginning a precinct dedicated to the formation of blessed girls.

Later in the 20th century it became the General Hospital of Queretaro. Today, the part of the ex-convent is the headquarters of the Instituto Queretano de la Cultura y las Artes.

In addition to its baroque style, its tower and façade are influenced by Arab architecture, known as Mannerist.
