Located where the city of Querétaro was founded, this temple was built by Fray Antonio Lináez in the 17th century and became the first school for missionaries in America, from where Fray Junípero Serra came from.
It is of classicist style and in its interior it houses a stone cross, which supposedly is a replica of the one that the Indians saw over the sky in the year 1531 just after being defeated by the Spaniards in this same site.
In its interior is the "tree of the crosses", whose thorns have this form. It is currently a convent.
