It was placed there in 1916 by Venustiano Carranza, who frequented Tequisquiapan for its tranquility, colorful landscapes and hot springs. At the base there is a convex stone surface on which the Mexican territory is represented and on which falls a pendulum in the shape of a spinning top that indicates the center of the country.
