Visit the Museo Mexico Me Encanta and enjoy the art behind the daily life of our country.

Tequisquiapan has the honorable tradition of preserving the essence of a Mexico that, it seems, is slowly disappearing. In this Magical Town, there is a place that preserves traditional scenes from our country. This is the Museo México Me Encanta, a site that celebrates the identity and essence of an entire town.

The Museo México Me Encanta is composed of more than 200 miniature scenes of everyday situations in our country. A market, the circus, a wedding, quinceañera parties, a typical stationery store, and even a funeral are part of the collection of miniatures created by Teresa Cisneros, director of the Museum.

"I started this more than 35 years ago. The Museum has had a history with many passages, moves, and now we are here in Tequisquiapan, and we want people to visit us. Everyone who comes feels identified with some of the scenes because they are things that happen to us or have happened to us at some point in our lives," she says.

Teresa started this activity as a 'hobby'; her interest and love for portraying Mexican culture led her to build a nativity scene, and later she created scenes of daily life, mainly from towns or rural areas.

"The characters are inspired by people I know, some with whom I share moments of the days, the lady who sells gorditas, the young man who shines shoes, children who play or played in the streets," she says.

People from 67 countries have visited this site; in all cases, they have left with a pleasant taste in their mouths and have learned about the day-to-day life of Mexico. Cisneros assures that some people even get excited in front of the showcases as they remember moments from their past.

The Museo México Me Encanta survives thanks to the self-management carried out by Teresa Cisneros and people who have collaborated with her over the years. It also has a souvenir shop where visitors can take all kinds of miniature souvenirs to support this initiative.

If you visit Tequisquiapan, especially if you are in the company of your children, do not hesitate for a second, visit this Museum that is located a few steps from the Main Garden. We are sure that it will be a pleasant visit to learn a little more about the culture and traditions of our rich country.
