The Querétaro Convention and Congress Bureau has the purpose of advising and supporting the organizers of national and international congresses, conventions, fairs and exhibitions.

Zero VAT rate for foreign congresses, conventions, fairs and exhibitions.

It is the possibility of calculating VAT at a 0% rate for congresses, conventions, exhibitions and fairs, as they are carried out by event organizers residing abroad. In events organized by foreign companies, the corresponding VAT will not be charged for the services specified in the Miscellaneous Tax.

To whom is the 0% VAT rate transferred?

  1. Tourists or foreign business persons participating in a congress, convention, exhibition or fair.
  2. To event organisers residing abroad.

The world of Industry

Querétaro is the state with the largest creation of companies nationwide in recent years. It has more than 800 exporting companies.

Aeronautics

Querétaro is the most successful aeronautical cluster in Mexico, as well as the fastest growing sector. The National Aeronautical University of Querétaro (UNAQ) is the first of its kind in the country. The aerospace park is 100% destined for this sector.

Automotive

Sector dedicated to bus and tractor assemblers, which generate more than 49,000 jobs. It represents 10% of the State GDP.

Biotechnology

With more than 100 companies, this sector represents at least 5.3% of the State's exports. It generates more than 25,000 jobs.

Appliance

This sector has more than 30 companies, as well as a research and development centre. It represents approximately 7.5% of the State GDP and generates more than 1,500 jobs.

Information Technology

There are more than 122 member companies of the InteQSoft cluster. The cluster's annual sales are above 500 million dollars. It is a sector of growing importance that represents around 3% of the State GDP.

Historic Center of Santiago de Querétaro

Santiago de Querétaro is a city proud of its viceregal past, its baroque buildings and its imposing Aqueduct built in the eighteenth century. In 1996, the historic center was added to the list of sites considered Cultural Heritage of Humanity. To visit it, different pedestrian or tram routes are offered.

Franciscan Missions of the Sierra Gorda

They symbolize the last phase of evangelization in Mexico. Each temple represents an eloquent artistic statement with the use of Franciscan and indigenous motifs and symbols; Each façade boasts a particular mestizo baroque. They were declared a World Heritage Site in 2003 by UNESCO for their artistic and cultural value, as they are a unique and surprising example of miscegenation in this remote region. The Sierra Gorda is a paradisiacal place for ecotourism and gastronomy; a combination of nature, culture and history.

Camino Real de Tierra Adentro

The Camino Real de Tierra Adentro, known as the Camino de la Plata or the Camino de Santa Fe, was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2010. It was the route by which all goods were transported during the viceroyalty. This path created wealth and development around it, a fact that can be perceived today in the opulent haciendas of San Juan del Río.

Places of Memory and Living Traditions of the Otomí-Chichimecas of Tolimán

In 2009, this area was declared Intangible Heritage by UNESCO, due to the immense cultural and symbolic value of the sacred customs of the Otomí-Chichimeca indigenous people preserved to date. It includes all the sacred sites of this indigenous people, represented by the semi-desert of Querétaro, the family oratory chapels, the festivities, the pilgrimage routes, the Peña de Bernal and the indigenous memory itself. Since this heritage is not tangible, its purpose is to preserve culture and prevent its disappearance.

Querétaro Congress Center (QCC)

The QCC was designed under international quality standards, in an area of 32,000m2. It is located just 5 km from the Historic Center of the capital city of the state, 2 km from the Querétaro Bus Terminal and only 20 km from the Querétaro Intercontinental Airport.

Exhibition floor:

Space of 6,450m2 divisible into four rooms for 328 stands of 3x3 meters.

Congress floor:

4,021m2 distributed in ten different rooms.

Public areas:

8,536m2 distributed in five lobbies and two terraces, in addition to areas for coffee breaks, registration, cocktails and stands.

  • Parking with capacity for 1,550 cars in 55,734m2 of outdoor area.

Metropolitan Theater

The Metropolitan Theater, located in the Querétaro Centro de Congresos, is a magnificent option for presenting plenary conferences, as well as protocolary and cultural events. By choosing this venue, the event will benefit through one of its three major projects: the Main Hall, equipped with state-of-the-art technology, is divided into four levels and equipped to receive 1,335 spectators; the Experimental Theater, characterized by its large window located with a panoramic view of the city of Querétaro, has capacity for 330 attendees; and the Dance Room, with capacity for 120 people, is ideal for more intimate artistic and theatrical practices. In addition, the entire venue is accessible for people with disabilities and offers equipped dressing rooms, a press room, parking, and a restaurant with a spectacular view.

10,000m2 in 16 rooms with state-of-the-art technology. The largest hall can accommodate up to 400 people.

Eco Centro Expositor

72 hectares with three warehouses of 4,500m2 each. It also has a 5,400-seat entertainment center, a bullring and a racetrack.

Josefa Ortiz de Domínguez Auditorium

With a capacity for 4,700 people, it can be used as an auditorium, theater or exhibition center. Located near the Historic Center.

Estadio Corregidora

Ideal for massive events, over 260,000m2 with a capacity for 41,000 spectators.

Centro Educativo y Cultural del Estado Manuel Gómez Morín

It houses 3,000 people in different areas and rooms.

San Juan del Río Convention Center

3 spacious lounges and terraces; It can accommodate events from 120 to 600 people.

Historic Sites

Querétaro is one of the states in Mexico with the greatest cultural and historical richness. Undeniable witnesses are the buildings inherited from a viceregal and prosperous past that has left a Historic Center, in the state capital, with an endless number of valuable architectural jewels.

Art Museum

Former monastery of the Order of San Agustín, built between 1731 and 1743. It functioned as a military barracks, hospital, federal palace and post office, until it was finally restored and inaugurated as a museum in 1988. It is considered one of the most beautiful Baroque cloisters in America. Capacity for 200 people, it is ideal for cocktails.

Theatre of the Republic

It was inaugurated on May 2, 1852, with the name of Iturbide Theater. This neoclassical style venue has hosted events that marked the destiny of the country: in 1854 the National Anthem was played for the first time; in 1867 Maximilian of Habsburg was sentenced to death, and on February 5, 1917 the Political Constitution of the United Mexican States was promulgated.

Conín Palace

It is located next to the church of San Felipe Neri, where Don Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla officiated the first mass in 1805. It currently houses the Ministry of Urban Development and Public Works, known as "Palacio Conín", in memory of the founder of the city.

Historical Archive

It was built at the end of the eighteenth century in a neoclassical style. It was the Government Palace and in 1916 it was named the National Palace by Venustiano Carranza. In 1986 it was named a Historical Archive and to this day it keeps the official information of the State. The patio can accommodate up to 100 people in cocktails.

Regional Museum of Querétaro

The temple and former monastery of San Francisco was the first religious building to be built in Querétaro. It dates back to 1540 and functioned as a cathedral between 1865 and 1911. The Regional Museum that it now houses is dedicated to illustrating the history of Querétaro and Mexico. It has a main courtyard, an auditorium and some exhibition halls. Capacity for up to 300 people at banquets and plenary sessions.
