Persons with disabilities (PWD) are increasingly dynamic in tourism activities as a result of their increasing degree of economic and social integration.
According to the UNWTO and the ONCE Foundation, it is an emerging market in tourism activity that demands Tourism Services and Products aimed at satisfying its leisure and recreation needs.
The Ministry of Tourism of the Government of Mexico, through its General Directorate of Tourism Product Innovation, in coordination with the State Secretariats of Tourism and tourism service providers, considers it essential to prepare a Catalog of Accessible Tourism Products and Services to improve the inclusion of PWD in tourism, so it took on the task of compiling in an exhaustive manner, the tourist offer focused on travelers with disabilities that tourism service providers have developed throughout our country.
This catalog includes 12 different products, within the states of Guanajuato, Guerrero, Oaxaca, Puebla and of course Querétaro.
In the section that refers to the state of Querétaro, the catalog specialized in accessible tourism highlights the project carried out by the State Secretariat of Tourism, to place inclusive plaques in more than 40 attractions of the entity, which contain information in Braille, high relief, Mexican sign language, and QR codes to provide information to all visitors about points of interest in destinations such as Amealco, Bernal, Cadereyta, Jalpan, San Joaquín and Tequisquiapan.
Finally, the state offers in this catalog the service of tours in the Archaeological Zone and Site Museum of the Pyramid of El Cerrito, located in the municipality of Corregidora, in charge of the National Institute of Anthropology and History.
