In the municipality of El Marqués, Querétaro, is Cactus Querétaro, a specialized nursery that protects more than 600 species of cacti and succulents, born from a deep love for nature and cultivated with family dedication.
It all started with Valente Rabell, who from the age of 14 felt a special fascination for plants. His curiosity led him to carry out expeditions through desert areas, identify species with extraordinary precision and develop his own methods to care for and propagate quality plants, having recognition by prestigious schools at his young age. He was a natural activist, tireless defender of the plant world, whose passion flourished in what is now a renowned greenhouse.
Today, his legacy lives on thanks to his father, his wife and his son, who lead the process of planting, reproducing and caring for the species. Cactus Querétaro offers young species of one year, as well as specimens of up to two years, each with a growth rate that depends on its type.
They also have grafting, a specialized technique that improves the health and appearance of plants and some specimens of African plants. In addition, they provide personalized attention, explanations about care, and accompaniment to those who are starting out or are passionate about the world of cacti.
Their presence is not limited to the nursery: they also actively participate in exhibitions in Tequisquiapan and downtown Querétaro, sharing their work with the public and strengthening the culture of plant care in the region.
Its hours of operation are Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm and from Monday to Friday by appointment.
