Querétaro has a region with a winemaking legacy of more than 500 years of history, currently with more than 700 hectares of vineyards and 350 labels of red, white, rosé and sparkling wines, sweet, dry and semi-dry that have achieved great prestige nationally and internationally over the last few years. That is why in September 2019, the first edition of the Queretaro Wine Festival was held, presented by the Association of Winemakers of Querétaro, hand in hand with the Ministry of Tourism and Culture of the state, where more than 180 wine labels from 26 local producers could be enjoyed.
Five years after that first Querétaro Wine Festival, the maturation process of the Association of Winegrowers of Querétaro, through the organization and exchange of experiences of its members, produced a consolidated alliance between the industry, the government and academia, leaving behind the figure of the simple Association to evolve into an aligned and solid economic model currently known as "Querétaro Wine Cluster". whose primary objectives are to promote competitiveness, attract more visitors and strengthen the consumption of Querétaro wine, under a sustainable viticulture scheme.

This year, Querétaro obtained the First Geographical Indication of wine in Mexico, a recognition granted by the Mexican Institute of Intellectual Property (IMPI), which certifies that the wine was harvested, processed and bottled in the wine region of Querétaro, with its unique conditions of climate, soil and tradition. It is a guarantee of origin, authenticity and quality. In short, it is the birth certificate of Querétaro wine.
As in previous editions, the Querétaro Wine Festival symbolizes the closing of the harvest season that runs from June to September, so, in this fifth edition, on October 17, 18 and 19, it continues its work of contributing to the state's wine industry, in addition to supporting entrepreneurship and local suppliers.
Wine producers, cheese producers, artisans and gastronomic projects will be participating in this event with the purpose of offering local, national and foreign visitors, a festival that will exalt the products made in the state.
We look forward to seeing you this October 17, 18 and 19 in the Plaza del Gran Cué, municipality of Corregidora.
What will you find in this fifth edition of the Querétaro Wine Festival?
During these two days, visitors will have the opportunity to learn from the owners, all the wine projects in the region, as well as enjoy their gastronomy, crafts and products of the municipality of Corregidora within a family and fun atmosphere. Access is free. Some of the artistic presentations will be in charge of Gerardo Urquiza, La Barriada, Diego Siqueiros, Bohokustic rumba flamenca, Jairo Performance, among others.
For the wine sector of Querétaro, participation in the Querétaro Wine Festival represents an argument to bring and access new markets and consumers, allowing it to gain notoriety and offering guarantees about the quality of Querétaro wine.
Within the framework of the festival, the presentation of the 6th edition of Q wine will be held, a collectible wine produced with the effort of all the producers of the region where the union and passion for Querétaro wine is shown. On this occasion, the artist who made the image was Raquel Barousse, whose artistic name is "Dreaming Rabbit".

5th. QUERÉTARO WINE FESTIVAL
Program of activities:
Friday, October 17 from 8.30 am to 12:00 pm
Technical Conference of the Querétaro Wine Festival at the Hotsson Hotel located in Prol. Bernardo Quintana 8300, Centro Sur, 76090. Querétaro, Qro.
It consists of conferences aimed at the wine industry and students of related careers. We will have the participation of José Antonio Vidal, president of the World Wine Tourism Organization; Gabriel Fidel, vice-rector of the University of Cuyo, Argentina; Eugenio Parrodi, who will talk about what a Protected Geographical Indication is and will present success stories of PGI from other countries and we will have a university panel on Sustainable Viticulture led by SEDESU and the universities of Arkansas, UNAM, UAQ, TECNM and IGES.
Later, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., the "Wine Room" will be held, where all the Querétaro wineries will meet to make their wines known to the restaurant and hotel sector.
Finally, on Friday, October 17 at 7:00 p.m. will be the inauguration of the 5th Querétaro Wine Festival at the facilities of the Corregidora gastronomic market located in the Plaza Gran Cué at Av. Fray Eulalio Hernández Rivera 101, El Pueblito.
