UN TRANVÍA LLAMADO...
The truth is that Corregidora, as an extension of the great city of the capital of Querétaro, offers an alternative for its visitors. Less than 15 minutes from the Historic Center, this small municipality has one of the most unique tourist sites in the state, the great pre-Hispanic pyramid that stands out from the landscape, giving it a unique touch that mixes the past and the present.
The best thing is that the Corregidora Tourism Directorate has developed a tour that immerses you in this journey through time so that you can enjoy and get to know a municipality where traditions and modern life coexist like nowhere else: The Route of Adoration.
On board a tram you will go through the most emblematic of this metropolitan municipality, for a very accessible cost and without haste at each stop, which will allow you to enjoy at your leisure what you will discover as you go.
For $ 90 pesos, this tour starts from the Main Garden of Corregidora, next to the old Municipal Presidency, where today the Corregidora Tourism Office is located. Departing every 2 hours, the Adoration Route includes 4 historical sites of great importance for the traditions of the community of El Pueblito (name of the municipal seat of Corregidora) and neighboring colonies: The El Cerrito Archaeological Zone, the Sanctuary of the Virgin of El Pueblito, the parish of San Francisco Galileo and the Sanctuary of Schönstatt, with some intermediate amenities.
The walk through this picturesque municipality begins in the El Cerrito Archaeological Zone, a pre-Hispanic site of Toltec origin where vestiges of other cultures have been found, such as the Purépecha, Teotihuacan, as well as the Otomí and Chichimeca. With a height of more than 30 meters, this important archaeological zone also has a Site Museum where you can learn in greater detail the history behind the place.
Something that makes this tour unmissable is that you can enjoy it at your own pace, that is, although the full tour lasts approximately 2 hours, the same ticket gives you the opportunity to enjoy each of the sites at your leisure and take the tram again when it passes through the place again, or at one of the points where it stops.
In addition to the 4 main tourist sites in Corregidora already mentioned, the tram also stops at Plaza Constituyentes, the most important commercial development in the municipality, where you can take time to eat at one of the restaurants, have an ice cream, a coffee, look at the numerous shop windows or even play a game of bowling or bingo. Remember that your tram pass allows you to take the next run at no extra charge (the last one arrives at its last destination around 6 in the afternoon).
When you visit the capital, don't miss the opportunity to take this tour. The guide that accompanies you throughout the journey has a deep knowledge of this municipality and her experience will make everything you learn as enjoyable as it is interesting.
