  • Misión de Concá
  • Viaja en moto

Emerged from the sea bed about 60 million years ago, the Sierra Gorda today scarps the clouds of the sky of Queretaro. The abrupt of its topography gives him the presence of the main ecosystems of the country, from the deserted to the foggy forest. It has three main attractions: the inspiring natural landscapes; the adrenaline in its ecotouristic camps; and the five Franciscan Missions, the last and wonderful baroque constructions in the History, declared World Heritage.

Main Natural Attractions

  • Sótano del Barro
  • Río Escanela
  • Gruta Los Herrera

Traveling the Sierra Gorda means going changing the landscape each 15 or 20 minutes: semidesert, tropical forest, high jungle, low jungle; arid landscapes and exuberant green. This territory treasures some of the most unusual views like the Sótano del Barro, a 450 M abyss of free fall, or the Escanela River, one of the main affluents of this ecosystem that descends by its steep latitudes in numerous waterfalls. Los Herrera Caves is an enormous underground gallery that for millions of years has worked stalactites and stalagmites with the most capricious forms: this way, infinity of attractions is wide spread on a region where admiration and pictures never end.
