A reflection of many eras
The archeological zone El Cerrito, a pre-Hispanic settlement whose name comes from its resemblance to a small hill, is located in the municipality of Corregidora, just fifteen minutes away from the Historic Center of the Capital City. It is made of squared structures, altars and small rectangular bases, built on rocky outcrops. This construction was, for a long time, the most important ceremonial center of El Bajío.
El Pueblito is part of the municipality of Corregidora and the city of Santiago de Querétaro’s conurbation. Historically it has preservered traditions and peculiarities that have developped a strong local identity. One of the most deeply rooted devotions of the region is dedicated to the Virgen del Pueblito, a pilgrim image whose permanent home is the sanctuary that bears the same name.
